Manifesting Isn't Just Wishing
Sign in to keep this for your altar.
You’ve probably heard a lot about manifestation lately. It’s everywhere, from spiritual circles to business coaching. But somewhere along the way, the idea got a little twisted. It’s not just about making a wish list and waiting for the universe to deliver. It’s a lot more grounded than that.
It Starts with Knowing What You Want
Before you can manifest anything, you have to get honest about what you actually want. This sounds simple, but it’s often the hardest part. We’re so good at telling ourselves what we should want, or what looks good on paper. Take some time to sit with yourself. What truly lights you up? What kind of life feels good in your bones? This isn’t about ego or external validation; it’s about your deep, quiet desires.
The Difference Between Manifesting and Avoiding
Here’s where it gets interesting. Sometimes, what we think we’re manifesting is actually just a way to avoid something uncomfortable. Maybe you're trying to manifest a new job, but deep down, you're avoiding the conversation you need to have with your current boss. Or perhaps you're manifesting a new relationship, but really, you're avoiding the loneliness you feel when you're by yourself.
Manifestation isn't about running away from your present reality. It's about consciously moving towards a better reality. If you're using manifestation as an escape hatch, it's worth pausing to ask what you're trying to outrun. Address that first, and your manifestations will become much clearer and more powerful.
Allowing the Good Things In
Once you’re clear on what you want, and you’re sure it’s not an avoidance tactic, the next step is about allowing. This is where the 'high vibes only' crowd sometimes misses the point. You don't have to be perfectly happy 24/7 to manifest. Life is messy, and that's okay. Allowing means creating space for what you desire, even when things aren't perfect.
It means trusting that what's meant for you will find you, and being open to how it might show up. It might not be in the exact package you envisioned, but it will be right. Allowing also means being willing to do the practical work, to take the inspired action, and to step out of your comfort zone when the opportunity arises.
A Gentle Invitation
Instead of hustling for your manifestations, try a softer approach. Get quiet. Ask yourself what you truly want and why. Check if there’s anything you’re avoiding. Then, simply open your hands and your heart to receive. The universe often works in quiet whispers, not booming announcements.
