What to Do When You Feel Stuck
Sign in to keep this for your altar.
Sometimes, you just feel stuck. The air in your home feels thick, your thoughts are circling the same old worries, and you can’t quite shake the feeling that something needs to shift. It happens to all of us.
It’s not about doing a grand cleanse or buying special tools. It’s about acknowledging the feeling and giving yourself a simple, physical way to release it. We carry a lot of energy, both our own and what we pick up from the world around us. And sometimes, that energy just needs to be cleared away, like dusting a shelf.
The Salt Water Cleanse
This isn't complicated. You probably have everything you need in your kitchen right now. Salt has been used for purification across cultures for centuries because it's a natural absorber of energy. Water is a conductor and a cleanser. Together, they make a potent but gentle combination.
Here’s what you do: Find a quiet moment when you won't be interrupted. You don't need perfect silence, just a few minutes where you can focus.
First, grab a bowl – any bowl will do. Fill it with warm water. As you do, think about the feeling of being stuck. Don't judge it, just acknowledge it. It’s okay to feel this way.
Next, add a generous pinch or two of salt to the water. As the salt dissolves, imagine it dissolving those heavy, stagnant feelings you've been carrying. See it pulling away the worry, the indecision, the general 'stuckness.'
Wash It Away
Now, gently dip your hands into the salt water. You don't need to soak them for a long time, just enough to feel the water and the salt on your skin. As you do this, whisper (or think) something like, "I release what no longer serves me. I release this stagnant energy. I am clear."
Feel the sensation of the water. It’s a simple, physical act, but it creates a powerful anchor for your intention. You are actively choosing to let go.
When you're ready, remove your hands and don't dry them immediately. Let the water air dry for a moment, or gently shake them, imagining any lingering heavy energy literally shaking off and evaporating.
A Fresh Start
Finally, take the bowl of salt water and pour it down the drain. As it swirls away, visualize all that stuck energy going with it, out of your home and out of your personal space. It’s gone. You've actively moved it.
This isn't a magic fix for every problem, but it is a powerful way to reset your energy when you feel overwhelmed or bogged down. It creates a small, clear space for new thoughts and new possibilities to emerge. Try it next time you feel that familiar drag. See what shifts.
