Moon conjunction Mars is feeling and reaction arriving at the same instant. The Moon is the part of a chart that registers safety — what feels like home and what does not. Mars is desire and pursuit, the part that moves. At a conjunction they occupy one piece of ground, so nothing gets felt privately first.
There is no pause built into this. That is its difficulty and most of its force.
What the conjunction is doing

Sign carries more weight here than in most aspects, because both planets are describing the same territory and the sign decides what that territory is like.
