Personal Year 3

Output and visibility, and the specific way a 3 year scatters

Not sure this is your number? Count it in one step — two dates come back with it, because we count your year from your birthday rather than from 1 January.

A 3 year is loud. Something you have been doing privately becomes public, and there is more of everything — more people, more invitations, more opinions, more said out loud than you meant to say. It is generally an easier year to live than the two before it, and a much easier year to waste.

What a 3 year is for

It is for output. Three years are where things get made and shown: the writing published, the shop opened to the street, the photographs actually printed, the class taught. Whatever was begun in the 1 and negotiated through the 2 becomes an object other people can look at.

It is also for company. A 3 year tends to widen a circle. You end up in rooms you would not have entered a year earlier, and a surprising number of the useful relationships in a nine-year cycle are made here — not through strategy, through showing up somewhere and being talked to.

And it is for a specific kind of lightness. Not frivolity. The ability to hold your own work loosely enough to let someone else see it before it is perfect. People who cannot do that spend the year with a finished thing in a drawer.

The part nobody says

A 3 year scatters, and it scatters in a way that feels like abundance right up until the year ends.

The mechanics are ordinary. Visibility generates opportunity, opportunity generates yes, and four yeses generate four half-built things and a person who is tired in a way that does not correspond to anything finished. The year is not short of energy. It is short of edges.

There is a second, quieter cost. A 3 year rewards being liked, and it is very easy to start making the version of the work that gets the warmest response rather than the one you meant. That trade happens in small increments and it does not announce itself. By the end of a 3 year some people have an audience for something they no longer want to be doing.

The correction is unglamorous: pick fewer things, finish them, and let the rest be ideas you had. A 3 year with two completed objects in it is a good 3 year. A 3 year with nine started ones is a story about a busy time.

How the year is cut

Your Personal Year runs birthday to birthday. It opened on your last birthday and it closes the day before your next — not on 31 December. Most free calculators count from 1 January, which is why a number from another site may not match the one we give you.

The twelve turnings open on your own day of the month. Born on the 6th, your turnings open on the 6th. In a year this scattered, those edges are the most useful thing on the page: they tell you how long you actually have before the year turns over, which is usually less than it feels.

Below, the strip is worked out for one reader. Real dates, blank values — the twelve numbers are the Personal Year Blueprint, and we would rather leave them off than fake them.

Where the number came from

Your birth month and birth day, added to the year you are in, reduced under our house rules. No step of it is hidden.

The Personal Year calculator gives the answer with a receipt under it: your two dates, the year counted against, and your Life Path and Birth Day set out line by line. The arithmetic is on the page and you can check it with a pen.

What this page does not know

It does not know your birthday, so it cannot tell you your dates. It does not know which turning is open this week, or where in the twelve the scatter is scheduled. It has not touched your Life Path or your name.

A 3 year over a Life Path 7 is an odd, effortful thing — a person built for a closed door, handed a year that keeps opening it. Over a Life Path 3 it can be the best year in the cycle and the hardest to show anything for. Count yours and read the year rather than the number.

A worked example

Take Angela Cruz Dela Paz, born on the 6th, and suppose the addition landed on 3. Then the year runs 6 July 2026 to 5 July 2027 — birthday to birthday — and it is cut into twelve turnings that open on the 6th of each month rather than the 1st.

  9. 96 Mar5 Aprwritten
  10. 106 Apr5 Maywritten
  11. 116 May5 Junwritten
  12. 126 Jun5 Julwritten

The dates are real and the numbers beside them are not printed. That is deliberate — those twelve values are written out in the Personal Year Blueprint, and a blurred number would be a sales technique rather than an honest edge. To see this strip with your own dates on it, count your year.

Three windows in a 3 year

The opening up

turnings 14 · 6 Jul 5 Nov

The first stretch is where the invitations start — to speak, to show, to join. A 3 year usually begins with more coming in than you asked for, and the early decision is what to say no to before saying yes becomes a habit.

The scatter

turnings 58 · 6 Nov 5 Mar

The middle is where a 3 year is either made or lost. Four half-finished things are the classic shape. Whatever you carry through this stretch is what the year will have been about, and everything else quietly becomes a story you tell.

The showing

turnings 912 · 6 Mar 5 Jul

Late in a 3 year the finished thing meets an audience. It is the most exposed stretch of the cycle so far, and it is where the difference between wanting to be seen and being seen becomes concrete.

Those three windows are dated against Angela Cruz Dela Paz’s birthday. Yours fall on your own day of the month, which is the point — why we count from the birthday.

Where this stops

The other eleven turnings are written, each with its own dates.
